DiMichael steps down from NIT League

Nicholas J. DiMichael will relinquish his post as general counsel for the National Industrial Transportation League at the end of the year, the trade association said in its weekly newsletter.

He will be succeeded by long-time colleague and counsel to the NIT League, Karyn Booth.

DiMichael will continue to work for some other clients in a reduced role at law firm Thompson Hine as he seeks to spend more time with his family, a league spokesperson said.

The NIT League is honoring DiMichael for his 21 years of service with its 'Executive of the Year' award, to be presented at its annual meeting in Anaheim, Calif., next week. He played a key role in legislation addressing motor carrier efforts to claim undercharged rates, terminating the Interstate Commerce Commission and establishing the Surface Transportation Board, ocean shipping reform, rewriting international ocean cargo liability rules, non-vessel-operating common carrier contracting regulations and developing the organization's Vision 2020 strategic plan earlier this decade.
