Dominican official laments DR-CAFTA delays A problem related to a Texaco-Chevron fuel transport contract is unfairly delaying the final authorization for Dominican Republic participation in Dominican Republic-Central America Free Trade Agreement benefits, said Andres Van Der Horst, director of the Dominican Republic's National Competitive Council
   'Implementation of the agreement is in the hands of the United States,' Van Der Horst said in a report in the newspaper Dominican Today. 'Several weeks ago, the Dominican Republic sent to the business office (of the U.S. Trade Representative) in Washington the necessary documents with the latest amendments to legislations, thus completing all issues that have been lacking.'
   However, he noted the USTR is now seeking information related to a Dominican Industry and Commerce Ministry resolution on the cancellation of fuel transport contracts involving the U.S. oil company. Texaco-Chevron terminated contracts with Dominican fuel transport companies. The ministry regulates cancellations of fuel transport contracts.
