Donlen in effort to reduce emissions    Car and truck fleet leasing company Donlen, the Environmental Defense Fund and GreenDriver said they are collaborating on a multiyear effort to reduce commercial fleet green house gas emissions by 20 percent as part of the Clinton Global Initiative.
   Donlen, a privately held company, said it does not lease semi-trailer trucks, but does lease other sorts of trucks as well as automobiles.
   EDF will assist Donlen by validating its data collection process, reduction strategies and methodology. Donlen will also utilize online training and behavior management programs from GreenDriver to help commercial and government fleets reduce their carbon dioxide and fuel costs.
   “The transportation industry is responsible for 28 percent of the overall greenhouse gas emissions in the United States,” said Gary Rappeport, Donlen chief executive officer. “As a leader in the fleet management industry, it’s important that Donlen takes the initiative to help reduce commercial fleet GHG on a broader scale.”
