Dragonair to increase Hong Kong/Frankfurt cargo flights

Hong Kong-based Dragonair will increase the number of its weekly scheduled freighter flights from Hong Kong to Frankfurt from three to four, effective April 9.

The new service will depart Hong Kong every Sunday 11:50 a.m. before arriving in Frankfurt the same day at 9:55 p.m. The return journey will call at Dubai before arriving back to Hong Kong on Monday at 9:35 p.m.

The airline’s other services on the route, all of which use Boeing 747 freighters aircraft, depart Hong Kong on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

“Demand for shipments from the Far East into Germany is particularly strong,” said Albert Yau, Dragonair’s general manager, cargo.

In addition to the scheduled flights into Frankfurt, Dragonair also operates six B747-200/300 freighter flights a week between Hong Kong and Amsterdam and six weekly B747-200/300 freighter flights to Manchester in the United Kingdom.
