Drewry establishes supply chain division

Drewry establishes supply chain division Drewry Shipping Consultants has established a new division, Drewry Supply Chain Advisors, which is aimed at strengthening the company’s presence in the logistics business.
   The new unit of the London-based consultants will offer research and advice to exporters and importers, logistic service providers, and legal and financial firms on international end-to-end supply chains involving international transport such as container shipping, air freight, bulk shipping, and trucking, including the interface with distribution centers and inland transport at origin and destination.
   For example, exporter and importers might seek Drewry’s advice when establishing supply chains from worldwide sourcing locations, relocating production plants or increasing capacity; a logistics company might use the company if it needs advice on a different area than its normal area of concentration; and a legal or financial firm might use it for due diligence investigations or to recommend organizational changes.
   The division director is Philip Damas, former international editor for American Shipper. Other advisors include Michael Berzon, David Cairns, David Charlesworth, Wayne Schmidt and Abhishek Tandon.
