DSL to start new feeder service in April

Sailing between Djibouti and Somalia, the container feeder service will operate with one chartered 1,000-TEU vessel, maritime news outlet Splash 24/7 reported.    Djibouti Shipping Lines (DSL), a new ocean carrier based out of Africa, will launch a container shuttle service in April, according to maritime news outlet Splash 24/7.
   The service will sail between Djibouti and Berbera in Somaliland with one chartered 1,000-TEU vessel.
   Ultimately, the service will act as a feeder, taking cargo from Berbera to Djibouti for further transport.
   Djibouti-based GSK Group, parent company of DSL, said, “Looking to the future, two further vessels will be added, in due course, to service other ports in the region.”
   DSL has plans to call at other ports in the Red sea and the Horn of Africa, including Port Sudan and Mogadishu, Splash 24/7 reported.
   In addition to Djibouti, GSK Group’s website says it has branches in neighboring Ethiopia and Somalia, with companies in construction, multimedia, travel, trading, manufacturing, shipping and logistics.
