DSV starts express service

   DSV Air & Sea Ltd. has started DSV Xpress, a flexible-priced courier and express service aimed at same-day or next-day delivery.
   The program groups multimodal capabilities together under one roof.
   The service is currently only offered in Sweden, the United Kingdom, Denmark, the Netherlands and Germany.
   Services include online booking, track and trace, and invoices, and DSV has pledged to ship anything from small documents to large, bulky items.
   “Instead of having to use one company for sea and air, and others for road, warehousing and courier, we can now offer a single point of contact for all logistics services,” DSV Xpress’ U.K. head, Martin Rutter, said in a statement. “Also, our strong buying power and economies of scale enable us to offer the product on very competitive terms.”
   DSV also recently signing a three-year contract to handle transport and logistics in the United States for Nilfisk-Advance. DSV officials estimate the contract’s annual turnaround to be in the $10 million range. – Jon Ross
