Dubai e-customs systems to go online later this year

Dubai e-customs systems to go online later this year Dubai Customs World, the customs subsidiary of Dubai World, will introduce its e-customs clearance system later this year, about the same time as the first phase of Dubai’s new mega airport will see its first cargo flights.
   Mirsal World, as the system is called, will allow for electronic submission of customs information to government officials of the Middle Eastern state.
   DC World also has designs on exporting the system to ports and countries throughout the region, with one of the other states in the U.A.E. already under contract.
   Michael Proffitt, chief executive officer of Dubai Logistics City, revealed the timetable for the e-clearance system at an air cargo conference in Mumbai last week. DC World unveiled an advance version of the system in March 2007
