Duran named CEO of U.S. Soybean Export Council

Duran named CEO of U.S. Soybean Export Council    The U.S. Soybean Export Council has picked Dan Duran to serve as its first chief executive officer, effective Oct. 1.
   Duran joins the council from Galahad International, a sales and marketing company based in Baton Rouge, La., that specializes in building global dairy markets. Prior to Galahad, he spent 16 years with Wells Dairy, the largest family owned and operated dairy processor in the United States.
   The council was jointly formed earlier this year by the American Soybean Association and United Soybean Board to implement marketing and competitiveness activities on behalf of the soybean checkoff and U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service.
   Duran will be based in St. Louis. The council’s board is governed by representatives of soybean exporters and related industries.
