Dutch carrier enters U.S. market

Dutch carrier enters U.S. market Rotterdam-based Europe West Indies Lines BV (EWL) is expanding its North American presence by offering rail services to the United States Midwest via rail services to and from Halifax in Canada.
   The Netherlands company has served the Canadian market for more than a year on its weekly Europe/Canada/Latin America Mainliner ocean service, and is now accepting cargo between Halifax and Chicago and Detroit on Canadian National’s rail network with transit times of three and four days, respectively.
   From Chicago and Detroit, EWL will serve on a fixed-day weekly basis Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin.
   EWL will be represented in the United States by Worldwide Logistic Partners, which has offices in Chicago, Cleveland and New York. EWL will also work in close cooperation with its Canadian agency, Protos Shipping.
