DVB Bank’s unaudited profit up 21.3% in 2007

DVB Bank’s unaudited profit up 21.3% in 2007 Frankfurt, Germany-based DVB Bank, specialists in transport finance, today reported preliminary, unaudited net profit for 2007 of 109.2 million euros ($159 million), up 21.3 percent compared to 90 million euros in 2006.
   “DVB recorded a strong result for 2007, despite a challenging market environment,” said Wolfgang F. Driese, DVB’s chief executive officer and chairman of the board of managing directors.
   Looking ahead for 2008, Driese said the board “expects DVB’s business to develop favorably, even in the event of a weakening global economy. We benefit from demand for extra capacity in certain transport segments, and by stronger investment in fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly technologies.”
   DVB’s annual Report will be published by April 30.
