e-Truck manifest now available at all border crossings

e-Truck manifest now available at all border crossings Deployment of electronic truck manifest functionality is now complete at all U.S. land border crossings following final installation at the Pigeon, Mont., port of entry, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said.
   All 99 land border crossings are now capable of processing electronic manifests. The system, part of the Automated Commercial Environment, allows for advance checking of documents prior to arrival at the border and reduces the use of time-consuming paper-based checks at the border.
   On average, CBP officers process more than 30,000 trucks per day using ACE. Ninety-nine percent of manifests are filed electronically at all ports, according to CBP.
   Currently, filing is mandatory at all land border ports in Arizona, California, Idaho, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Texas, Vermont and Washington. CBP eventually will mandate the e-manifest policy to include every land border port.
