Eagle Bulk orders four ships
New York-base Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc. said it has exercised options for the construction of four 58,000-deadweight-ton Supramax vessels from the Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group, parent of the Yangzhou Dayang Shipbuilding Co., at a contract price of $42.3 million per vessel.
The four ships are expected to be delivered in 2010 and 2011 and will increase the size of Eagle’s fleet to 53 vessels with aggregate carrying capacity of 2.93 million dwt.
