Echo launches ‘self-service? TMS

Echo launches æself-serviceÆ TMS    Echo Global Logistics, a provider of technology for transportation and supply chain management services, on Tuesday announced the launch of its 'self-service' transportation management system, called FlexTMS.
   'Our FlexTMS solution will automate time-consuming processes for clients and provide greater visibility to the entire transportation management function while allowing them to continue their existing carrier relationships,' said Douglas R. Waggoner, Echo's chief executive officer, in a statement.
   FlexTMS is developed as a software-as-a-service TMS with integrated managed services. 'This 'a la carte' product provides shippers with a customized, cost-effective program for their logistics needs. It offers clients a standard solution which includes routing guide management, automated load entry, tendering and acceptance, load visibility with customized reporting and analytics complimented by industry experts to assist with freight management,' Waggoner said.
   Echo said FlexTMS was created for shippers with 'strong buying power and carrier leverage, but lacking advanced technology.' The cloud-based TMS gives shippers advanced IT function without the large capital investment needed to buy and implement their own software.
   'We feel that this product will help expand Echo's reach to an untapped market and bring our company to the next level,' Waggoner said.
