Econocaribe makes appointments

   Miami-based non-vesssel-operating common carrier Econocaribe Consolidators has appointed William Higgins to director of global accounts, and Erich Henninger to expands its sales in the Pacific Northwest.
   Before joining Econocaribe, Higgins was owner of Genesis, a 20-year-old Houston-based NVO. Genesis was acquired by Econocaribe in 2007. Higgins will be responsible for further developing Econocaribe’s freight forwarder client base and working with the NVO’s partner Ecu Lines, based in Belgium.
   Henninger, a 15-year industry veteran, will be based in Seattle, and will provide export and import services to forwarders and customs brokers in the region.
