Belgium-based non-vessel-operating common carrier ECU Line has acquired
Fleet Shipping Lines.
Fleet Shipping has offices in New Jersey, Baltimore, Atlanta, Miami,
Chicago and San Francisco. The NVOs operations will be merged into ECU Line starting Dec.
1.
"We were very interested in Fleet Shipping’s existing trade lanes,"
said
Kris De Witte, president of ECU Line USA.
Fleet Shipping has NVO service to Europe, Asia, South America and the
Mideast. Combined, ECU Line says it will be able to offer service to 75 destinations
worldwide from the United States.
ECU also recently completed acquisitions of other NVOs, including Sea Express
of Baltimore and Mercator Shipping in Miami.
