EGL JOINS CTS ALLIANCE PROGRAM
EGL Inc., which operates under the name EGL Eagle Global Logistics, said it will join CTS Corp.'s cooperative partnership Alliance, which provides high-tech interconnect systems using the core competencies of the alliance partners.
EGL brings supply chain management and global transportation expertise to the alliance, developed in May. Alliance is viewed as an alternative response to the growing market demand for tier-one Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) vendors to provide global design and manufacturing services.
The independent supplier members include CTS Interconnect Systems, a Glasgow, Scotland-based designer and manufacturer of press-fit and surface-mount backplanes, daughtercard assemblies and integrated interconnect systems; Pentair Enclosures (Pentair Inc.), a metalwork vendor; PPC Electronic AG, a technology printed circuit board (PCB) provider; and WUS Printed Circuit Co. Ltd., which manufactures high-volume PCBs in Asia.
The alliance works together to provide a fully integrated EMS solution, based on shared technology, sales, engineering and manufacturing resources.
