EGL signs up to use OAG’s Internet air cargo rates tool
Houston-based EGL Eagle Global Logistics, a provider of transportation and supply chain management services, has signed a contract to use OAG Inforwarding’s Web-based Air Freight Rates Application (AFRA) in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.
AFRA enables airlines, sales agents and freight forwarders to distribute and search more than 1.2 million individual rates online from about 250 airlines. EGL will start using the Internet tool in March.
“EGL will gain a strong set of benefits from using AFRA by having a single source for all rate data,” said David Lara, EGL’s vice president information technology for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. “AFRA will offer significant time savings for our employees in terms of the visibility and management of our vendor contracts. Overall, we see significant benefits in terms of productivity and operational accuracy as a result of using this program.”
OAG Inforwarding is part of the United Kingdom-based OAG Worldwide.
