Egypt ports resume normal operations    Port operations in Egypt are slowly returning to normal after widespread protests hampered container operations throughout the country last week.
   Swiss container line Mediterranean Shipping Co. said in a customer update Friday that operations had resumed as normal at the Mediterranean port of Alexandria and the Red Sea port of Sokhna, which is operated by DP World.
   Containerisation International reported Friday the Suez Canal Container Terminal, the APM Terminals-operated facility in Port Said and the country's busiest container facility, was 'near normality.'
   Last week, American Shipper reported that most of Egypt's major ports were shuttered due to a curfew imposed by longtime president Hosni Mubarak's government over protests aimed at removing him from power.
