EI will use its Web-based Rail Manager and Rail Logger products to develop the unified platform that will track car inventory, yard and car status, and movements across the port’s 60 miles of track with access to a variety of privately operated customer facilities. It will be deployed as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model.
The system will use electronic data gathering to improve data accuracy and accelerate data collection, such as built-in interfaces to multiple railcar AEI readers and electronic records from railroads and on-site shippers.
