Eimskip expands seafood shipping business to China    Eimskip, an Icelandic shipping company with roots in the North Atlantic, has opened an office in China’s Qingdao port.
   Qingdao, located along China’s Northeast coast, is a large fishing, fish processing and seafood trading center. Eimskip’s Qingdao office will initially be operated as a branch of the company’s operation in the Netherlands.
   “Although the North Atlantic will remain Eimskip’s primary market, the company has decided to expand into other regions in response to worldwide changes in seafood trading,” said Eimskip in a statement. “China’s global share of seafood processing is growing, which calls for expanded activity by transport companies that ship both raw materials to processing centers and processed products from China to the international marketplace.”
   Earlier this year, Eimskip established the company Eimskip Reefer Logistics BV in the Netherlands, which specializes in the freight forwarding of frozen and chilled seafood.
