Eimskip separates North Atlantic, Iceland divisions

Reykjavik-based shipping and logistics group HF Eimskipafelag Islands (Eimskip) has split its North Atlantic division into two divisions by creating a special Iceland unit.

Following the organizational change, Bragi Thor Marinosson will be the chief executive officer of Eimskip’s North Atlantic section looking after business in that area, especially in the Faroe Islands and Norway. Gudmundur Davidsson has been appointed CEO for Iceland.

Davidsson was director of marketing and business development at the corporate division of Landsbanki. He has also worked for shipping and logistics company Samskip for 12 years as a manager both in Iceland and abroad.

Marinosson has been Eimskip’s executive vice president of North Atlantic since 2006.

“Eimskip has grown significantly in a short period of time,” said Baldur Gudnason, group CEO. “These changes emphasize the importance of Eimskip's operation in Iceland and they will further strengthen the good relationship Eimskip has with its customers.'
