The electronics distributor RS Components will use software from the the supply chain design solutions company LLamasoft.
The company will use Llamasoft’s Supply Chain Guru throughout its global enterprise.
RS Components and Allied Electronics are the trading brands of Electrocomponents plc, a global distributor of electronics and maintenance products. The company operates in 32 countries and offers around 500,000 products, with 44,000 parcel shipments daily.
“We chose LLamasoft as our supply chain design partner based on the richness of optimization features combined with an intuitive, easy-to-operate user interface and a good support structure when developing model solutions,” said Christian Lude, head of process analytics and performance, RS Components. “The tool has been used for our strategic network design project and has significantly reduced the time it takes to get answers compared to our previous solution, even though we have run vastly larger models encompassing our entire product range at SKU-level.”
