EMERY APPOINTS CUSTOMS BROKERAGE DIRECTORS
Emery Worldwide, the air-cargo unit of CNF Inc., has appointed Jeff Hammond to managing director of its customs brokerage unit.
Hammond, who will be based at Emery’s Middleburg Heights, Ohio office, is responsible for overall customs brokerage operations as well as business development of the unit. Prior to his appointment, Hammond was general manager at Emery’s Boston office.
Emery also appointed Roger Niemel to director of operations, regulatory compliance and consulting to the customs brokerage unit. Niemel will be responsible for the Emery’s internal customs compliance and employee training. He joined the firm in 1996 after five years with Tower Group International.
