EMERY FORWARDING NAMES OÆCONNELL VP, CONTROLLER AND TREASURER    Emery Forwarding, part of CNF Inc.'s Menlo Worldwide Group, has appointed Daniel P. O'Connell as vice president, controller and treasurer.
   O'Connell will be based at Emery Forwarding's Redwood City, Calif. Headquarters.
   A 29-year veteran of financial, management and operational accounting for the transportation services industry, O'Connell was vice president of finance and administration for Emery Worldwide Airlines, a separate CNF company based in Dayton, Ohio.
   He joined Consolidated Freightways in 1972 and advanced through several financing and accounting positions, and was promoted to director of management and cost accounting for CNF Inc. in 1986. He transferred to Emery in 1990 and was appointed director of management and cost accounting in 1997, prior to his latest position with Emery Worldwide Airlines.
   Emery Forwarding provides international air and ocean forwarding, North American overnight, expedited, second-day and deferred air freight, customs brokerage and project management services.
