The White Box is a low-cost solution geared toward pharmaceutical and food shipments.
Emirates SkyCargo has unveiled the “white container,” an internally developed LD3 that will be targeted at healthcare and food shippers.
The new container, which is coated with thermal insulators, can be used for shipments that need to be kept in ranges between 2 degrees Celsius and 8 degrees Celsius, and 5 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius.
“After two years of intensive research and development by our team, we are introducing a new cool-chain offering to the air freight market,” Emirates’ Moaza Al Falahi, vice president of cargo product development and local affairs, said in a statement. “The White Container is an affordable option and does not replace Emirates SkyCargo’s high-end Cool Chain Premium solution. Instead, it offers an intermediate solution that is cost effective for commodities, such as generic healthcare products and food perishables. It’s also environmentally friendly and meets all regulatory requirements.”
