Encompass offers cargo control app

Encompass Global Logistics, a third-party logistics company with a heavy focus in the transpacific trade, has released a cargo management mobile app for use on Apple’s iPhone, iPad, and iPod products.
The app, which is free and now available on the iTunes store, gives both exporters and importers control and flexibility over their shipments. It allows companies to access dialing and freight schedules for ocean and air; track and trace shipments on its proprietary information management system called Globe Trak; see status updates; generate customizable reports; access house bills of lading and commercial invoices; view a company’s background and information on its services; and customer service contacts.
“We work in a business where product demand can change at a moment’s notice,” said Encompass Chief Executive Officer Asa Cheng. “Technology will continue to play a vital role in the logistics industry to speed up the flow of goods worldwide.”
Encompass is part of the Gong Brothers Holdings International and has hub and office locations in North America, Europe, Southeast Asia, China and Australia/New Zealand. In 2011, Encompass moved more than 75,000 TEUs worldwide and over 920,000 kilos of air freight.
