England elected ATA chairman

   Dan England, chairman of C.R. England Inc. of Salt Lake City, was elected chairman of the American Trucking Associations on Tuesday.
   England urged industry unity in the face of “a possible change to the hours-of-service rule, a long overdue highway bill and a mounting stack of regulations on top of a sluggish economic recovery. In order to meet these challenges… We need to speak with one voice,” he said.
   An attorney, England was in private law practice, specializing in insurance litigation and transportation, before joining his family’s business in 1977 and becoming in-house legal counsel. In 1982, he was promoted to general manager. He became chief executive officer of C.R. England in 1988, then elected president and chairman of the board in 2005.
