Schank, who succeeds Stephen Van Beek, directs the National Transportation Policy Project at the Bipartisan Policy Center in Washington, which has proposed a new vision for the federal role in surface transportation policy.
He has held a number of positions during his career, including transportation policy advisor to former Sen. Hillary Clinton. He also worked as a consultant with PB Consult and was a senior associate at ICF International in Washington, as well as served in positions at the U.S. Department of Transportation and Metropolitan Transportation Authority in New York.
Additionally the foundation board promoted Barbara Gannon, interim president, to the newly created position of executive vice president. She will also continue to serve as executive director of the Center for Transportation Leadership.
This year Eno celebrates its 90th anniversary and will hold events highlighting the foundation's work and progress since its inception in 1921. The foundation will lay out future plans as it works with the broad transportation community, sets new goals and implements new programs.
