ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REVIEW BEGINS FOR PROPOSED PORT PELICAN PORT    The U.S. Coast Guard and Maritime Administration are seeking public input for an environmental impact study of the proposed Port Pelican deepwater port application.
   The plan description in the license application calls for the construction of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) deepwater port area in the Gulf of Mexico, about 36 miles southwest of Fresh Water City, La.
   Port Pelican, if approved, would deliver natural gas to the U.S. Gulf Coast using existing gas supply and gathering systems in the Gulf of Mexico and southern Louisiana. “Gas would then be delivered to shippers using the national pipeline grid through interconnections with major interstate and intrastate pipelines,” the agencies said.
