enVista starts e-commerce platform for mid-market retailers

The company’s Enspire Commerce unit was designed to help smaller retailers manage trading partners, orders, inventory, and fulfillment more cost-effectively through a cloud-based set of solutions.    The supply chain software and services provider enVista said this week it has started a new business unit to provide a cloud-based, multi-tenant set of solutions for omni-channel retailers.
   The new entity, Enspire Commerce, includes modules to help retailers with trading partner management, order management, point of sales, and e-commerce on a single platform. Other functionality in the platform includes inventory allocation, order routing, and shipping.
   enVista said it developed the platform after seeing gaps in omni-channel retail processes emerge in its work with existing retail, distribution and 3PL clients.
   “Many mid-market companies face the same omni-channel complexities as larger retailers,” said enVista Chief Executive Officer Jim Barnes. “At the heart of our platform is an integration framework that allows trading partners to connect and create trading partner communities. This is a very different, customer-centric approach to retail that drives revenue and profitability by capturing sales, fulfilling from multiple inventory sources and delivering a unified cross-channel brand experience to consumers.”
