Erickson to retire as Atlas Air chief

Jeffrey H. Erickson, president and chief executive officer of Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings Inc. (AAWW), will retire from the company later this year.

Erickson will continue in his roles, including being president of AAWW’s subsidiaries Atlas Air and Polar Air Cargo, for the near-term until a successor is chosen, AAWW said.

Erickson has served as AAWW’s president and board member since March 2003, becoming CEO in January 2004 and overseeing the company through its emergence from bankruptcy in July 2004.

At the same time, AAWW said it expects to report pre-tax income in excess of $125 million on revenues of approximately $1.6 billion for 2005.
