ESC named as cargo agent for Chinese airline

ESC named as cargo agent for Chinese airline Hainan Airlines has named European Cargo Services the exclusive general sales agent for cargo for the Chinese carrier, ESC said Friday.
   The new agreement sees ECS offices throughout Europe marketing the airline's 45 tons a week of freight capacity to Beijing. Hainan Airlines operates three Boeing 767 passenger flights a week from Brussels to Beijing. ECS said it expects to generate 1,200 tons of traffic for Hainan in its first year of representation.
   Hainan Airlines is the leading enterprise in the air transportation business unit of China's HNA Group. Other airline subsidiaries within the group include China Xinhua Airlines, Chang'an Airlines and Shanxi Airlines. The group's airline subsidiaries carried 198,700 tons of freight and mail in 2006, making HNA the fourth-biggest airline group in China.
