ESC ORGANIZES SHIPPER FORUM    The European Shippers’ Council will hold its annual conference on transport and logistics on Oct. 10 in Athens, Greece in partnership with Mare Forum.
   The conference will focus on maritime security and short sea shipping.
   Speeches and discussions will enable conference participants to become up to date with the latest developments relating to increased security, and allow them to debate practical problems concerning security in the maritime supply chain, the ESC said.
   Speakers will include Fotis Karamitsos, director maritime transport of the European Commission; Ed Emmett, president of the U.S. National Industrial Transportation League; Stefan Minder of Kuehne and Nagel; and Patrick Verhoeven, secretary general of the European Sea Port Organisation.
