ESPMC adds congestion charge for Callao
Member carriers of the ESPMC-WITASS conference between Europe and Latin America said today they are implementing a new congestion surcharge for Callao, Peru, effective Sept. 15.
The charge will be $55/41 euros for all southbound and northbound cargo moving through Callao.
'Member lines have been experiencing long delays recently in Callao due to congestion in port,' the conference said in a statement. 'There seems little chance of improvement in the short term.'
