Ethanol plant planned in Pennsylvania Northeast Ethanol and Renewable Resources Ltd. is planning to build a plant in Northeast Pennsylvania.
   The Times-Tribune said the company’s favored site is in Mayfield, near Scranton. The company hopes to begin construction of the plant by the end of the year and have it producing up to 50 million gallons of fuel in a year, the newspaper said.
   Other ethanol plants under construction in the Northeast are in Fulton and Seneca Falls, N.Y., as well as in Hempfield in western Pennsylvania.
