Etihad helps develop Abu Dhabi cargo network

Singapore-based Cargo Community Network and Etihad Airport Services-Cargo have banded together to create the Cargo Community Service technology platform in Abu Dhabi, helping to promote the region as Etihad’s international gateway.
The system will be online in the fourth quarter.
Freight forwarders in the region will be able to use the service for air cargo booking and other shipment processes, and to fill out documents like the electronic customs manifest and electronic delivery orders. The CCS will link these forwarders directly with carriers, ground handlers and necessary third parties. The system will use CCNhub, a secure online portal.
“We are delighted to collaborate with EAS-Cargo as it sets about building an air cargo e-commerce environment and hub in Abu Dhabi,” CCN’s chief executive officer, Teow Boon Ling, said in a statement. “Having been in this region for the past few years, we have a good understanding of the local market requirements and practices, and with this exciting partnership we envisage the customised e-services we deliver to the Abu Dhabi cargo community will elevate the standard of air cargo services to the next level.” – Jon Ross
