Etihad makes Swissport handling partner

   Etihad Cargo has named Swissport its first preferred handling partner under a two-year certification contract focusing on stations in Athens, Geneva, Larnaca, Nairobi, Seoul and Toronto.
   According to a press release, the two parties will expand their agreement to other stations in the future.
   To obtain the certification, Swissport passed benchmarks in training, regulatory compliance, safety, security and risk management, and information technology infrastructure. Etihad performed an “extensive audit” on Swissport, according to Etihad Airways’ Kevin Knight, 
   “The Etihad Cargo-Swissport PHP deal will standardize the product and service we jointly deliver, strengthen our network operations, and enhance the reliability and quality of ground-handling services to our customers,” Knight said in a statement. “We look forward to developing this partnership into one of mutual confidence and trust, and maximising the returns on our commercial operations.” – Jon Ross
