Etihad, Singapore swap cargo space

   Singapore Airlines Cargo and Etihad Cargo have initiated a cargo swap, with the Asian airline offering Etihad capacity on its weekly freighters from Singapore to London Heathrow via Abu Dhabi.
   In return, Etihad will grant Singapore space on its Abu Dhabi freighter flights to Frankfurt. Etihad will also open up access to its Middle Eastern cargo network.
   Singapore Airlines started its B747-400 flights to London in June and is planning to add a second frequency at the end of October.
   “This year, we have strengthened our cargo operations by expanding the freighter fleet, launching new destinations, increasing frequencies, and by working with partner carriers such as Singapore Airlines Cargo,” Etihad’s David Kerr said in a statement. “We look forward to working with Singapore Airlines Cargo to further enhance cargo access and network connectivity for our respective customers.”
