Europe-Caribbean freight rates increasing
Carriers in the trade from Europe to the Caribbean and Latin America said Thursday they will implement rate hikes through the newly consolidated ESPMC-WITASS conference.
The member lines, which include CMA CGM, CSAV-Chilean Line, Hamburg Sud, Hapag-Lloyd and 'K' Line, will implement an increase of 150 Euros ($190) per twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) effective with their respective September sailings. The conference said there will be an additional, yet-to-be-determined rate hike on December 1, as well.
