EUROPE/MIDEAST CONFERENCE RAISES FUEL CHARGE
The Europe Middle East Rate Agreement will raise its bunker adjustment factor to $45 per TEU on May 4.
The bunker increase follows rises in the fuel surcharge implemented in February and in April.
The conference said that the increase results from higher bunker costs borne by conference carriers.
The members of the Europe Middle East Rate Agreement carriers are Andrew Weir Shipping (Ellerman), CMA CGM, DSR-Senator Lines, Hapag-Lloyd, Maersk Sealand, P&O Nedlloyd, Safmarine (CMB Transport) and United Arab Shipping Co. (UASC).
