Europe/West Africa carrier raise Cote d’Ivoire risk surcharge
Shipping lines of the Europe West Africa Trade Agreement said they have increased their risk insurance surcharge for shipments to and from ports in Cote d’Ivoire.
The higher surcharges amount to 200 euros ($261) or '140 per TEU southbound and 150 euros ($196) or '105 per TEU northbound.
Shipping line members “are experiencing further additional insurance costs and have therefore decided that the extra risk insurance surcharge will be increased,” the Europe West Africa Trade Agreement said.
Carriers of the Europe West Africa Trade Agreement are Delmas and its affiliate OT Africa Line, Maersk Sealand and its sister company Safmarine, and Nile Dutch Africa Line.
