European forwarder uses Descartes enterprise platform

Rotterdam-based D.J. Powers has deployed Descartes’ OneView forwarder system to bring shipment planning, execution, document generation, and back-office functions on one platform.    The logistics and trade management software provider Descartes Systems Group said Wednesday that forwarder and customs house broker D.J. Powers BV has deployed Descartes’ OneView Forwarder Enterprise solution to run its European operations.
   OneView solution is a platform to help the company improve local processes and facilitate execution of international shipments. It is designed to enable third-party logistics service providers to more effectively manage their customers’ shipments while automating back-office operations.
   The enterprise software allows LSPs to plan and execute transportation bookings, transmit security filings and customs entries, and manage accounting processes.
   “Technology is a key enabler and is critical to our ability to directly service Fortune 500 companies as we expand into new countries and regions,” said Eric Bakker, vice president, D.J. Powers Company. “Rotterdam is a strategic hub for our European operations and was the ideal location to implement Descartes’ technology.”
