EVERGREEN ADDS PHILADELPHIA TO EAST COAST U.S./SOUTH AMERICA SERVICE

Evergreen will add weekly calls at Philadelphia's Packer Avenue Marine Terminal to its weekly U.S. East Coast/East Coast South America service, effective May 15.

Philadelphia will be the first inbound discharge port when Evergreen's SNA service begins calling the port each Tuesday. Evergreen had been concentrating its main import cargo movements into New York.

The service operates with six vessels of about 2,400-TEU capacity, with service speeds of 21 knots. APL, Crowley American Transport and Lykes Lines share space on the service.

The northbound service rotation is Paranagua, Buenos Aires, Rio Grande, Santos, Rio de Janeiro, Puerto Cabello and Philadelphia. Transit times are 13 days from Rio de Janeiro and five days from Puerto Cabello.

The Packer Avenue Marine Terminal is operated by Holt Cargo Systems Inc.
