Evergreen, ITS join IDX
Taiwanese shipping line Evergreen Marine and its Italian subsidiary Italia Marittima (ITS) will join the weekly India North America Express (IDX) of Emirates Shipping Line, OOCL, Shipping Corp. of India, and Zim, starting in January.
The IDX service began in May and now deploys eight vessels ranging in capacity from 2,500 to 2,600 TEUs. The service has a port rotation of New York; Norfolk, Va.; Charleston, S.C.; Barcelona, Spain; Colombo, Sri Lanka; India’s Tuticorin, Nhava Sheva, and Mundra; Barcelona; and back to New York.
OOCL is replacing MacAndrews as a vessel provider on the IDX, also beginning in January.
