Evergreen joins Maersk’s WCCA

   The ocean carrier Evergreen Line will begin a slot charter agreement with Maersk Line on the latter’s weekly West Coast North America to Central America service WCCA. 
   The first sailing will depart Manzanillo, Mexico May 19 on the Helene S.
   The full rotation of the WCCA remains Los Angeles, Manzanillo (Mexico), Lazaro Cardenas, Puerto Quetzal, Acajutla, Corinto, Balboa, Puerto Caldera, Acajutla, Puerto Quetzal, Lazaro Cardenas, Manzanillo, Ensenada, and Los Angeles. The terms of Evergreen’s slot agreement, however, will limit the carrier to calls at Manzanillo, Puerto Quetzal, Acajutla, Corinto, and Caldera only. The service is operated by four Maersk vessels with an average capacity of 2,512 TEUs.
   Evergreen has no other services that offer direct connections between Mexico and Central America, though the carrier does operate the joint WSA service with Pacific International Line, Wan Hai, and COSCO, which calls at Manzanillo to and from Asia en route to the West Coast of South America. – ComPair Data, Ben Meyer
