Evergreen Marine’s revenue up 22% in first nine months

Evergreen Marine’s revenue up 22% in first nine months    Evergreen Marine Corp. (Taiwan) Ltd., the listed shipping arm of the Evergreen group, increased its revenue 22 percent in the first nine months of this year to NT$88.7 billion ($2.6 billion), from NT$72.8 billion in the year-earlier period.
   In a monthly revenue report, the Taiwanese company also said that it raised its revenue 13 percent in September to NT$10.9 billion ($323 million), from NT$9.7 billion in September 2003.
   The latest figures suggest that Evergreen Marine Corp. will post much stronger annual revenue results this year as it and other container carriers enjoy a second year of rising rates and rapid growth in Asian traffic.
   Evergreen Marine Corp. recently reported a 1,923-percent surge in its first-half net income to NT$ 4.6 billion ($136 million), with an 18-percent jump in revenue to NT$ 19.2 billion ($568 million).
