Evergreen switches Asia/Panama port rotation

Evergreen switches Asia/Panama port rotation    Evergreen Line said Wednesday it is cutting a week off the transit time of its weekly Far East-Panama (FPS) service, which links Asia with Central America, the Caribbean and the West Coast of South America.
By rearranging the port rotation in Asia, the Taiwanese ocean carrier said it has reduced the transit time from its Taiwanese hub, Kaohsiung, to the Mexican port of Lazaro Cardenas from 23 to 16 days, with transit time from Shanghai to the Caribbean hub of Colon Container Terminal down to 25 days.
The new FPS service rotation, as of April 16, will be Ningbo, Shanghai, Yantian, Kaohsiung, Lazaro Cardenas, Colon Container Terminal and Ningbo. Previously, the Asian ports sailed eastbound in a rotation of Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Ningbo.
The service uses seven vessels of about 2,700 TEUs.
