Evergreen Line is talking to Zim Israel Navigation and other carriers
about a vessel-sharing agreement in the trade between the U.S. East Coast,
Brazil and Argentina.
A spokesman for Evergreen said that no final decision has been made on a
future cooperation.
At present, Evergreen operates a weekly service on its own in the trade,
while Zim, Pan-American, Hanjin, DSR-Senator and Cho Yang have a joint
weekly service.
A potential partnership between Evergreen and Zim is seen as significant
because both carriers use the Jamaican port of Kingston as a Caribbean hub
for their services.
