Netherlands-based third-party logistics provider CEVA Logistics has promoted Jérôme Lorrain to chief operating officer of freight management, adding the responsibility for air and ocean freight to his current position as head of the ground business line. Lorrain, who will continue to serve on the company’s executive board, is taking over the air and ocean role from Helmut Kaspers, who has left the company. Lorrain will continue to be based in Houston in the near term.
Michael O’Donoghue, who currently serves as managing director of the United Kingdom, Ireland and Nordics cluster, will take on the role as managing director for North America from Lorrain on Jan. 1. O’Donoghue will be based out of Houston. A replacement for O’Donoghue’s current position will be announced in due course.
Prior to joining CEVA, Lorrain served as chief executive officer of Wallenborn Transports in Luxembourg from May 2009 to May 2014. Before that, he worked at Kuehne + Nagel for nearly a decade, beginning in 2000.
O’Donoghue joined CEVA back in 2010 after a 25-year career in the freight and logistics industry, which included senior management positions in both contract logistics and freight management for companies such as DHL and Excel.

Roadrunner Transportation Systems, Inc., an asset-light transportation and logistics services provider based in Downers Grove, Il., has appointed James Staley to serve as chairman of the board. Staley succeeds Scott Rued, who was chairman from March 2010 until November 2017, and Mark DiBlasi, who was vice chairman from April 2017 until November 2017.
Staley has served as a director of the company since October 2010 and as lead independent director since December 2016. He is also currently the lead director of Douglas Dynamics, Inc., a designer, manufacturer and seller of snow and ice control equipment for light trucks.
From 2004 until December 2007, Staley served in various roles at YRC Worldwide, Inc. and its subsidiaries, including president and chief executive officer of Roadway Group and YRC Regional Transportation. Prior to that, he spent over 30 years in various roles at Roadway Express, including president and chief operating officer.

ShipServ, a London-based maritime e-procurement platform, has named Philip Uhrskov Nielsen to serve as its business and account director for EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). Prior to joining ShipServ, he worked for enterprise software company EXUS, and also worked for global US diagnostics company Alere Inc. He also founded one of the first digital marketing companies in Greece, building web applications for Greek and European companies.
